Ours is a “boutique practice” in the literal sense. Intimacy, confidentiality, efficiency are our watch-words.
Since 1986, Mr. Coleman has engaged in the general practice of law, which his wife benevolently terms, “a comprehensive practice.” Such breadth in scope and depth in acumen is maintained by staying engaged in cases on the cutting edge of the law, while staying abreast of legal trends by attending National Bar Association, American Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Missouri Bar Association, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and Jackson County Bar Association conventions and seminars; Continuing Legal Education courses; and by reading relevant aspects of their capacious legal literatures. Mr. Coleman presently belongs to, or formerly belonged to, all of the aforesaid organizations.
Mr. Coleman’s practice engages the following substantive areas of law: Civil Rights, Personal Injury, Contracts, Real Estate, Worker’s Compensation, Premises Liability, Medical Malpractice, Probate, ERISA, commercial litigation, business torts, construction law, constitutional law, and others. “Assume that we do it.”
Licensed by the Missouri Supreme Court in 1977, Mr. Coleman is also licensed to practice in the United States Claims Court, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts for the Eastern District and Western District of Missouri, and the State of Kansas’ federal courts.
Prior to entering upon the private practice of law, as a sole practitioner, Attorney Coleman was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, 1979-1986. Prior to working for the Justice Department, he worked for the Labor Department as a staff attorney in the Office of the Regional Solicitor, United States Communications Commission where he was a Law Clerk, for the Honorable Benjamin L. Hooks in 1975.
Larry Delano Coleman graduated from the Howard University School of Law in 1976 and the Howard University School of Communications in 1973, cum laude, with a degree in Print Journalism, when he was also Editor-in-Chief of the Howard University Hilltop newspaper.
